PCB Upgrades using The InvisiMod Technique

InvisiMod is a method of upgrading the revision level of a PCB without the use of wires. This is done by making an overlay circuit board with all the tracks added into its design.  Doing this makes every board have an identical change, reducing inspection, improving quality and extending the life (guaranteed for remainder of working life).

This is an example of a complete board modification adding all the missing ground connections from a fully populated board. Most InvisiMods are for local changes or as per example to the left, intended to avoid areas of the assembly.  Adding this design still allows for In Circuit Testing to be performed unhindered.

This modification is only 0.1mm thick - as are most single layer InvisiMods.  It is fitted onto the assembled PCB picking up power from one side of the capacitors and taking it to the correct leg of the IC that needs it.  Most of these modifications can be fitted either by our skilled staff or by training yours to fit a kit of parts provided by us.

Historically the company used to repair burns by reconstructing every track on every layer.  However, InvisiMod is an excellent method of reconstructing all the damaged areas in a more cost effective manner.

Wiring under a BGA is almost impossible if reliability is important to you, however Invisimod can reroute some or all of the connections if required.  These new connections can be routed anywhere else on the board.

InvisiMod can add the smallest of links adding connections to devices big and small.  This photo also shows the isolating of one pin of the larger device, removing the need for track cutting.
